U.S. Soldiers' Coffins
The death toll in Iraq has just surpassed fifteen hundred. One thousand five hundred Americans with loving families, caring relatives, and bright futures have died in the name of an endless war based around rhetorical ideals. Since George Bush declared victory in May 1st 2003, 1362 more lives were taken. When is the death going to end?

The full geopolitical benefits of a democratic Iraq are not apparent yet, and probably won't be for another five years, perhaps a decade.
The "Cedar Revolution" in Lebanon, multi-party elections in Egypt, municipal elections in Saudi Arabia, Palestinian elections... while there's no conclusive evidence at this point that these democratic changes are direct offshoots of our intervention in Iraq, it's very hard to NOT credit the President to some extent with these developments.
Perhaps the cowboy in Washington made the wisest investment of political capital and national resources since the Mexican-American War! I would believe that $300 billion and 1500 casualties is a bargain if it ushers in widespread democratic revolution--the only lasting solution to our terrorist worries is to create environments overseas where their mentality cannot incubate.

Hey EDAN!
In my comment, I AGREED with you on Iraq (a very Republican thing of me to do, indeed).
Furthermore, I'm not a democrat. I'm a "libertarian." Just because the root "liber" is in there, don't make the mistake of equating it with LIBERalism. The actual root is LIBERTY, because libertarians want to give as much freedom to our citizens as possible, and reciprocate by giving them lots of previously government-controlled responsibilities.
Take a PoliSci class and read my comment thoroughly, jackass...

No need for throwing insults? Perhaps you should have considered that before you called me "ignorant and immature" and a "cry-baby".
I guess that's the difference between a Republican and "the rest of us"... we can carry on an intelligent, thoughtful, reasoned argument without conceeding any viewpoints or victory to one another, and yet still avoid hurling insults at one another. Maybe you should stop taking debate lessons from Bill O'Reilly and think before you go spouting your mouth off...
Your need to post back to my previous comment really attests to YOUR ego as well, my boy...
Sincerely,
Jake McGuire
I never called you "selfish". I remarked that your response clearly shows that you have ego needs as well, namely that you can't walk away from a post flamewar.
Thank you for the apology, but you're still a douche. And please remember that YOU called names first, sir.
Jake,Jake, Jake....when will you ever learn. Edan, a very nice and respectable Republican, simply had a miscommunication with you, and what do you do....yell and scream, and bitch like a little baby. Now since I'm your doctor and we've walked down this road before, I know why your in a bad mood, but I think you should refrain from your hurtful comments towards Edan because he owns your soul.
