Quotes on Social Security

When will the media elites stop referring to George Bush's economic campaign as a "plan" to preserve social security solvency? You'd think they'd stop when its clear that he is completely devoid of any such plan, but no. Maybe they'™ll stop now, considering Bush himself admits he lacks any tangible plan. According to Dan Froomkin'€™s White House Briefing at the Washington Post online, Bush conceded to reporters that, "I haven't laid out a plan." Instead, "I've laid out some ideas that I think ought to be considered for a plan, and that's what's important for people to know." This is a battle of social and economic ideologies. Democrats want to preserve economic safety nets, while Bush wants something else. Democrats will not consider Social Security solvency at the cost of Social Security itself.

Max: Will private accounts solve the issue, Mr. Bush?
Bush: "€œPersonal accounts do not solve the issue." (Press conference)

I guess that settles it.

Wait... you're criticizing someone's political commentary, and yet your blog's rebuttal is a picture of Russel Feathers ("Wuss-el Fed-ders") chowing down on an apple?

Oh, God! Please stop the intellectual stimulation! It's crushing my brain! :-D
